Expecting a little one doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a well-deserved break! At DaisyScan, our team of expert midwives and nurses have put together some quick and easy tips to help you stay healthy and comfortable while travelling.
And remember – you can always ask us anything during your appointments. We’re here to support you!
1. Let the crew know
Tell the flight team you’re pregnant so they can look after you properly.
2. Drink up
Keep sipping water – hydration is super important when you’re flying.
3. Move your legs
Stretch often and wear compression socks to help prevent DVT.
4. Rest up
Put your feet up whenever you can – tiredness hits harder when you’re expecting.
5. Comfy shoes only
Swollen feet are common, especially in the heat – pack supportive shoes.
6. Skip the booze
Avoid alcohol and stick to light, healthy meals to beat bloating and nausea.
7. Check in with your midwife
Run your travel plans past your midwife to make sure everything’s safe.
8. Pack smart
Bring your notes, prescriptions, and important contacts – and back them up digitally.
9. Watch what you eat
Be extra careful with food and drink abroad – when in doubt, don’t eat it!
10. Make time for you
Take at least half a day to rest and treat yourself. You deserve it.
Travelling while pregnant doesn’t have to be stressful. With a bit of planning and some thoughtful adjustments, you can still enjoy a relaxing, memorable getaway. If you have any questions about travelling during pregnancy, don’t hesitate to reach out during your next visit to Daisyscan – we’re here for you every step of the way.
