Pregnancy and The Winter Blues
Pregnancy and The Winter Blues

As we near Winter Solstice we often have to brace ourselves for change...pregnancy, childbirth and new family members are definitely change!

So how can we do this in a positive light as the days get shorter?

Exercise! It’s that time of year where we would much prefer to be under a warm blanket or up close to a roaring fire. That will still be there on your return; what is great is the fresh outdoors. Whether it be a brisk walk or a gentle jog, it is all positive towards the pregnancy. It will release those endorphins, making you feel more in control and improving your sense of wellbeing.

Enjoy moments when you are able to take some time out to reflect. Whether it be with your partner, family, friends or even on your own, reflection can be amazing. Reflection will give your brain an opportunity to pause amidst the chaos, identifying and sorting life tasks. This will leave you feeling positive about the future of the pregnancy, ready, excited and in control.

Autumn is already upon us and the season of colour change is here! From the trees and leaves we have the most amazing browns, reds and gold colours shouting out vibrancy and a sense of survival. Whether clearing out the cupboards to make space, reorganising or decluttering, this will leave you feeling calmer, happier and more in control. Pregnant women should embrace this challenge, don’t shy away from it…I promise it will make you feel Great!

With the nights closing in we often spend more time indoors; so take the opportunity to indulge yourself and recharge. Whether it’s a new dinner recipe, starting a new book or challenging yourself with a new hobby, it will reduce your stress levels and make you sleep better. Enjoy a little ME TIME!

Every so often, it’s a good reminder, to invest in yourself a little and receive a lot!
